About

Hi, I'm

Mark

The Foundation of Experience

As a lifelong Oregonian, I've spent my life exploring the unique landscapes and architectural history of the Pacific Northwest. After growing up in Eugene, I moved to Portland in 2001 and have called this vibrant city home ever since. My career has always been driven by a fascination with how things are built, leading me to graduate from Portland State University’s Architecture program in 2008.

Before transitioning into full-time home inspections, I spent years on the front lines of residential construction. My background as a General Contractor and owner of a Design/Build company gives me a "behind-the-walls" perspective that few inspectors possess. I don’t just see a finished surface; I understand the structural systems and building science required to make a home safe and durable.

An Investigative Approach

I became a Certified Home Inspector in 2014, and over the last 12+ years, I have performed thousands of inspections across the Portland metro area. To me, a home inspection isn't just a checklist, it's a puzzle. I am a natural problem-solver who thrives on the investigative nature of the job, whether that's identifying the root cause of a moisture issue or evaluating complex electrical systems.

Life in the PNW

When I'm not under a crawlspace or up on a roof, I'm likely enjoying everything Oregon has to offer. I'm a proud father of two daughters, and nothing beats the chaos and joy of quality time with them, whether we're exploring local nature trails or hunting for bugs, we always find plenty of reasons to stay active and laugh together.

I understand that buying a home is one of the biggest investments you'll ever make. My goal is to provide you with the technical clarity and peace of mind you need to move forward with confidence.
